Who We Are

Welllesley Exotic Pet Vet is Virginia's avian and exotic veterinarian, focusing on birds like cockatiels, parrots, parakeets; reptiles like iguanas, chameleons, lizards, snakes; mammals like, rabbits, hamsters, and guinea pigs.

What We Do

Offering medical and surgical services like wellness exams, spays, and neuters; we provide complete life care for your avian, reptile or small mammal.

Located in Richmond, VA in the Short Pump Area near Henrico and Glen Allen, Wellesley Animal Hospital provides medical, surgical, preventative and dental care to rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, chinchillas, birds, parrots, chickens, rats, turtles, snakes, lizards, chameleons and ferrets. 

Avian and exotics are met in a special waiting room and are examined in their own rooms that are segregated from our dogs and cats at Wellesley Animal Hospital. 

One of our experienced vets who focuses on exotic pets will assess your exotic pet and information. 

Veterinarian Focuses on Exotic Pets

Dr. Lucy Haile is from Bicester, England and she graduated from the Royal Veterinary College in London. She moved to Virginia in August 2016 to be with her husband, Alex.

 

Her first few months here were spent at the Wildlife Center of Virginia. She then joined Pender Exotics Veterinary Centre where she worked as an exotic animal veterinarian for the past year.

 

Lucy's passions are exotic animal medicine and preventive care and she is keen to encourage wellness and routine visits in all your pets whether they be furred, feathered or scaled! 


In her spare time Lucy continues to volunteer at the Wildlife Center of Virginia and helps run Operation Catnip; a charity for feral cats.
